When considering the assessment of learning, there are many ways instructors can use mobile devices to assess students during class or after class. Read below to find out more about each tool. | |
a | PollEverywhere is a Web 2.0 tool that creates polls for students to answer through texts. The answers can be multiple choice or short answer. This a great tool to use to check for understanding, as the answers are anonymous. Instructors will need to create an account. Students do not need to sign in. b | Socrative is an assessment tool that allows instructors to set up rooms for students to complete assessments. These can be quick checks or more comprehensive exams. Students receive a room number to enter and then enter their name. Socrative creates a databse of student answers and can be graded and saved. Students do not need an account. c | Blackboard Mobile allows students to take tests via their mobile device. These can be any assessment published within the Blackboard course. Watch this introductory video and visit the site. |
d | SurveyMonkey allows registered users to create assessments, which can be accessed by students through a link, embedded on a website, or e-mailed. SurveyMonkey can be anonymous or connected to each student. Watch this introductory video and visit the site. |
