Student Response Tools
Do you want to know what students are learning during your class?  Have you tried "clickers" and found them wanting?  Several online, free student response tools are available for quick use.  Most require an instructor account, but students can respond without signing up.
PollEverywhere - audience response tool through texting, polls can be embedded into a PowerPoint presentation or onto a website
Socrative - student response system with mobile devices can be used for more formal assessments or responses
Selectricity - a quick way to get responses to a question, which can be done by texting with a bit of extra typing
AnswerGarden - creates word clouds from poll answers, which are only anonymous
PollDaddy - instant polling via e-mail or polls embedded on a website
99Polls - creates instant polls to embed on a webpage or a social networking site.
SurveyMonkey - a more advanced way to create surveys and receive results
